Kick off for Horizon 2020

H2020The publication of the first calls of the Horizon 2020 programme opens today the gateway to the European Union funds for the next seven years.
H2020 has a budget of nearly € 80 billion and the aim of bringing Europe toward a smart, sustainable and inclusive growth .
This new program is dedicated to Research and Innovation, to cover the entire value chain from frontier research , technological development , demonstration, exploitation of results , to innovation.
In order to bring the results of European research close-to-market, a large portion of the budget is reserved to industry competitiveness, and specific instruments are dedicated to Small and Medium Size Companies.
An interesting feature introduced in H2020 to make it more usable, is that the workprogrammes are generally bi- annual , so the programmes published today contain also the priorities for 2015, which will be progressively implemented with the publication of new calls .
Finally , noteworthy is that some of the calls published today have a deadline in March 2014.
