30 Jul We are recruiting: Field operation manager for Burundi

Starter is looking for a resource to be involved  as field and operation manager in a project for the introduction of a biochar system in rural areas north of Burundi. The ideal candidate has a master’s degree in technical-scientific disciplines: agriculture, environmental sciences, natural sciences, biology, geology, earth and soil sciences, etc.. The candidate will implement research and demonstration activities in the field, coordinating local staff and working with farmers and families of the target rural areas. He will have to demonstrate excellent motivation, organizational skills, proactivity and spirit of initiative, ability to work in groups in multilingual and multicultural contexts, excellent relationship skills, both oral and written communication ability, flexibility and adaptability. The candidate will work under the scientific supervision of relevant international research centres.

Priority will be given to applicants who can demonstrate previous work or volunteer experience in developing countries. The ideal candidate knows the French language, spoken and written. The place of work is Venice Metropolitan Area with trips to Burundi (provinces of Kayanza and Ngozi) for field work, only if the local pandemic situation allows to operate safely. Smart working is accepted. A 1-year contract is envisaged, with the possibility of renewal.
