16 Dec THE LIST OF APPROVED LIFE 2014 PROJECTS IS PUBLISHED

The Commission has approved an investment package of 264.8 million Euro to support Europe’s environment, nature and green growth. The investment covers 96 new projects spanning to 21 Member States, funded under the LIFE programme for the Environment. The projects cover actions in the field of environment and resource efficiency, supporting the transition to a more circular and sustainable economy, nature and biodiversity, and environmental governance and information. EU will co-finance the projects by providing 160.6 million Euro.
The Commission received 1,117 applications in response to a call for proposals that closed in October 2014. Of these, 96 were selected for co-funding.
In Italy, 21 projects have been approved, for a total investment of 39.3 million euro. Starter coordinated the application phase of two of these projects, which were both submitted under “Nature and biodiversity”. They are:

  1. LIFE SILIFFE – whose Lead Partner is Ente Parco Regionale del Fiume Sile in Treviso – a project that will strengthen the ecological network of the river Sile;
  2. LIFE RISORGIVE – whose Lead partner is Bressanvido Municipality – a project that will restore and consolidate the “blue” infrastructure of the springs and channels in the town of Bressanvido.
