05 Jun LIFE CALL 2015 OPENED
On 1st June the 2015 LIFE call for action grants was launched for both “Environment” and “Climate Action” sub-programmes.
The total budget available for the present call is 240,811,337 €. 184,141,337 € will finance “Environment” projects and the remaining 56,670,000 € will be for “Climate Action”. 55% of the budget allocated for “Environment” sub-programme will be dedicated to initiatives for nature and biodiversity conservation.
“Environment” sub-programme will support both traditional and capacity building projects. The deadlines for the submission of traditional projects vary according to the priority area:
- Environment & Resource Efficiency: 1st October 2015
- Nature & Biodiversity: 7th October 2015
- Environment Governance & Information: 7th October 2015
The deadline for Capacity Building projects will be 30th September, at 4,00 p.m. (Brussels time).
“Climate Action” will finance projects under the following priority areas, with deadline on 15th September 2015:
- Climate Change Mitigation
- Climate Change Adaptation
- Climate Governance & Information
The Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME) will be responsible for the management of all traditional projects submitted for both sub-programmes as well as for capacity building projects of “Environment” sub-programme.
The call is also open for the new project types introduced under LIFE 2014-2020, with the following deadlines for both sub-programmes:
- Integrated Projects: 1st October 2015 (concept note) – March/April 2016 (full proposal)
- Technical Assistance Projects: 15th September 2015
- Preparatory Projects: 30th October 2015
DG Environment’s LIFE Unit will be responsible for the management of these project types submitted for “Environment” sub-programme.
DG CLIMA will be responsible for both the new project types and capacity building projects submitted for “Climate Action”.
