Formally EASME is already operative since 1st January 2014 and take the place of the previous “Executive Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation” (EACI). EASME is responsible for carrying out parts of the following UE programmes:
- Programme for the Competitiveness of Enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises (COSME) 2014-2020;
- Programme for the Environment and Climate Action (LIFE) 2014-2020;
- European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) including the Integrated Maritime Policy (IMP), Control and Scientific advice and Knowledge;
- The Framework Programme for Research and Innovation 2014-2020 (Horizon 2020) – parts of ‘Part II – Industrial Leadership’ and ‘Part III Societal challenges’.
Moreover EASME is charged for concluding some parts of previous programmes and initiatives activated within CIP framework programme that will not operate in the next 7
